Papa Kante had intended to play for Michigan Basketball in the 2023-24 season, but due to an issue with admissions he was released from his NLI and was forced to look elsewhere. Kante has now committed to Pitt.

Kante was one of the top center prospects in the 2023 class and could have been a valuable piece for Michigan as early as this season. With him officially at Pitt, George Washington III is the lone commit of the 2023 class.
