It appears former Michigan safety Damani Dent has found a new home after a few months in the NCAA transfer portal. Although there has yet to be an official announcement from Dent, recent social media activity suggests the former Wolverine has joined Biff Poggi's surging Charlotte program.
Dent recently tweeted out a picture of the Charlotte football locker room, and he retweeted a tweet from the official Charlotte football account.
Dent entered the transfer portal on April 27 after one season with Michigan. The former three-star prospect from Jacksonville, Florida committed to Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines in October of 2021, and after a scare on early signing day with pushes from Florida and Miami, Dent stuck with his commitment to Michigan.
The 5-foot-11, 196-pound safety didn't see any game action as a freshman, which led to his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Dent is the fourth player to transfer from Michigan to Charlotte this offseason, joining Eyabi Okie, Nikhai Hill-Green and Julius Welschof. The list of Michigan-turned-Charlotte players continues to grow as Biff Poggi looks to impress in his first season with the 49ers.
