Gamecock staff. Now a junior, Guthrie is hoping that some new
schools pay attention to him as a prospect.
PERFORMANCE: Guthrie is listed at 6-2, 184 pounds
on Rivals.com but he's definitely bigger than that heading into
his junior year. He's still a bit thin but he's at about 205
pounds at this point in his development. Athletically he looks
very good. He's rangy and runs very well in open space. Against
Walled Lake Central he recorded a huge sack for a loss of nearly
10 yards and also had two other tackles for loss. His total tackle
number for the game was somewhere around eight and he did that in
less than three quarters of play after heading to the sideline in
a 27-0 blowout.
RECRUITING WRAP: Guthrie is in the early stages
of building a relationship with the Michigan coaches. He has
spoken with recruiting staff member Erik Campbell and plans to set
up a visit to Michigan in the near future. Guthrie will visit
Eastern Michigan this weekend for their game against Old Dominion.
He also has some visit plans set up with Bowling Green and will
also be in East Lansing September 19 when the Spartans host Air
Force.
