Hoops: Austin Hatch ready to attempt comeback

The Los Angeles Times reports that Michigan class of 2014 pledge Austin Hatch, recovering from a severe head injury suffered in a plane crash two years ago, will attempt a basketball comeback at Los Angeles Loyola this season ...
Hatch (6-6) will live with a family member in California. Classes begin Aug. 26.

"Austin continues to make steady improvement as he prepares for his final year of high school education," his family confirmed in a statement.
Hatch committed to Michigan when he was a sophomore at Fort Wayne Canterbury School, but he missed all of last season working on his recovery. He has been on the U-M campus many times since.
Hatch's comeback hinges on whether or not he'll be physically able to play, something still in question. He'd then need to gain eligibility approval from the CIF Southern Section.
