Hoops: Michigan offers Donte Grantham

Michigan basketball recruits had a great time this weekend at Under The Lights II, football's win over Notre Dame. One in particular, Cheathem (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy's Donte Grantham, had an especially good time in that he picked up a U-M offer.
Grantham is Rivals.com's No. 66 senior nationally.

"He can certainly play as a stretch four-man. But, after watching him more, Grantham looks to be pretty natural on the wing and is a legitimate small forward prospect at nearly 6-foot-8," Rivals.com's Eric Bossi wrote. "He can shoot threes from the corners, finishes at the rim and has smooth body control."
Michigan contacted D.C. Assault AAU coach Matt Parker about his standout at the end of summer, as did Cincinnati and Maryland. It's not too late for the Wolverines to make a push, Parker said, though Grantham is open to anyone and everyone.
U-M head coach John Beilein has a fan in the D.C. Assault coach.
"I like Coach Beilein as a coach. He's very, very good at what he does, being in tune with the players, player development," Parker said. "Donte and I haven't spoken about Michigan much, but they're not late to the party. In all honesty, it's Michigan."
A Cincinnati visit is also on the docket, and Grantham has ties to the program through his AAU program. Nothing's been set after that, and Grantham is in no rush to decide.
Watch for more on his visit in the hours to come ...
