Hoops: Michigan watching 2014s

Michigan coaches are looking around at class of 2014 targets in preparation for the possible defections of two or three more players, including another Canadian. Blairstown, N.J., Blair Academy's Marial Shayok, a Rivals.com three-star prospect recently released from his Marquette commitment, is one reportedly receiving interest.
There have been reports from SNY.tv that Michigan offered, but it's more likely he'd have to come on campus for a visit before it's finalized. His coach, Joe Mantegna, reported Rutgers, Virginia and Indiana had offered after the 6-7, 210-pounder asked for his release after the coaching change in which Buzz Williams left for Virginia Tech and was replaced by Duke's Steve Wojciechowski.

Boston College, Virginia, Providence, Marquette and Minnesota were his final five before he pledged in October. TheHoopScoop's Alex Kline reported, "Shayok is very long and versatile. A good defender with improved handle, outside shoot, slashing ability and playmaking skills, he brings a lot to the table."
He played AAU ball with CIA Bounce in making a name for himself.
There are reports, too, that Beilein is starting to look at other 2014 targets, including 6-5, class of 2014 shooting guard Ryan Taylor of St. John's, Ind., Northwestern Military Academy.
