Hoops/Video: Class of 2014 guard A.J. Turner

Michigan continues to evaluate 2014 talents, and one - Warren (Mich.) De La Salle guard A.J. Turner - has caught the coaches' eyes. Turner recently received a visit at practice from head coach John Beilein, and then scored 35 against top '14 Drake Harris of Grand Rapids Christian.
The 6-7 standout admitted he elevated his game in the head to head meeting, telling Next Level Sports he was ready.

"I got a lot of pump, a lot of people telling me about him," Turner said. "I've been waiting for this day playing against him for a very long time. I think I did pretty good."
Turner has offers from Arizona State, UMass, Northern Illinois, Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Detroit, Oakland and more. Michigan and MSU are looking at him, along with Northwestern, Iowa, and others.
"I stay in the gym every day," he said. Every day I go in the gym, me and my dad, put some shots up and get some work in. You've got to be a gym rat."
Turner had initially planned to visit for the Arkansas game, but had to cancel. He's likely to be on campus soon, having grown up a Michigan fan.
Watch for more on Turner in the days to come …
