Jordan Anthony Visiting For BBQ At The Big House

Jordan Anthony ()

Michigan has been heavily involved with Rivals100 four-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Jordan Anthony's recruitment from the start. Recently, things have heated up between the two as Anthony had positive things to say and has scheduled another trip to Ann Arbor.

Anthony is at IMG Academy, where Jim Harbaugh brought Michigan football's spring practice to this year. So, for he and many others at the school they got familiar with how the staff operates by having the chance to watch them practice since they couldn't talk to them directly. Fast forward a few months later and Anthony is still feeling U-M a lot, especially since he got to know them.

"I would say we have a pretty good relationship we talk almost every day," Anthony said of Michigan's staff. "They're definitely on me the most right now I would say . I talk to defensive coordinator Don Brown the most."

Anthony took an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor on April 1 for the spring game. That visit worked out well because he's going to be back again on his own dime for another unofficial visit.

"Honestly, I loved everything from touring the school to meeting the coaching staff, seeing the athletic facilities and everything they have to offer," he said. "I'm looking forward to the cookout [BBQ At The Big House]."

With Anthony now set to visit, Michigan's annual BBQ At The Big House on August 6 should be a very interesting day. With 10-plus three-star and up recruits visiting all at once, it's sure deliver something special. I mean, it's Jim Harbaugh, you can't expect it to be mild.

As far as the big picture for Anthony goes, he does not plan on committing anywhere until after the season. That's not to say that a visit somewhere else won't convince him to commit, it happens all too often, but if he follows the plan -- it will be awhile before we know about his whereabouts.

"Oklahoma, Clemson, Maryland, Penn State and LSU are all contending," he said. "But, I am definitely high on Michigan right now. That's all I can say."

Anthony said Ann Arbor will be a pit stop on his list of official visits, so make that a guaranteed three trips to campus at Michigan. The IMG standout looks to be very interested in heading North. With Rivals100 linebackers Baron Browning and Drew Singleton in the mix too, this linebacker class for the Wolverines could shape up to be a great on.
