Live Updates: Michigan vs. Georgia

The stage is set and the chance is here for the Michigan football program to punch its ticket to the national championship. It's not going to be easy, though, as the Wolverines will have to get through Georgia during the Orange Bowl in order to face the winner of Cincinnatti vs. Alabama.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.

Fourth Quarter

- TURNOVER ON DOWNS: Michigan tried to get a spark with McCarthy under center but turns the ball over on downs around midfield.

- TOUCHDOWN: More salt in the wound for Michigan. Bennett hits a wide-open Cook for an easy touchdown. 11:11 left in this one. Michigan 3, Georgia 34

- TURNOVER ON DOWNS: Michigan gets the ball near the endzone but turns the ball over on downs. Under 6 minutes left to play in this one.

- TOUCHDOWN: JJ McCarthy throws a pass to a wide-open Andrel Anthony, who strolls into the endzone. The Wolverines finally get into the endzone and add a two-point conversation to the tally. 4:25 left. Michigan 11, Georgia 34

FINAL: Michigan 11, Georgia 34

Third Quarter

- TURNOVER: A promising drive ends in a disappointing turnover for the Wolverines. McNamara throws a pass into the endzone which Daylen Baldwin stops short on, giving the Bulldog defender an easy catch for the interception. 10:02 left in the third quarter. Michigan 3, Georgia 27

- TURNOVER: After a pair of punts, the Wolverines turn the ball over again. Nakobe Dean showing off his prowess with a perfectly placed chop to Blake Corum who coughs up the ball around midfield. 7:30 left in the quarter.

- MISSED FIELD GOAL: Michigan gets a break, although it won't matter at this rate. Georgia misses a field goal and the Wolverines will get the ball back in the late stages of the third quarter. Michigan 3, Georgia 27

END OF QUARTER: Michigan 3, Georgia 27

Second Quarter

- Safety Brad Hawkins was banged up after the incompletion. Runs off the field under his own power.

- Hawkins has returned to the field.

- FIELD GOAL: The Wolverines were finally able to get a stop on the Bulldogs. However, UGA hits a 47-yard field goal to extend the lead. 12:26 left in the half. Michigan 0, Georgia 17

- FIELD GOAL: A 57-yard drive stalls near the redzone. The Wolverines get its first points in the game after Jake Moody knocks in a 36-yard field goal. 7:16 left in the half. Michigan 3, Georgia 17

- FIELD GOAL: Wolverines are fortunate that the three points it just surrendered wasn't seven. A chip-shot field goal by UGA puts the Bulldogs back at a 17-point lead. 3:50 left in the half. Michigan 3, Georgia 20

- TOUCHDOWN: Georgia strikes again. Bennett finds a wide-open receiver for a 57-yard touchdown. 1:38 left in the half. Michigan 3, Georgia 27

- INTERCEPTION: Just like that, U-M throws an interception. Between a miscommunication and what appeared to be pass interference, the Bulldogs take over around midfield. 1:28 left in the half.

- The Wolverines will get the ball back at the half but, mercifully, the first half is over.

HALFTIME: Michigan 3, Georgia 27

First Quarter

- Michigan wins the toss and defers to the second half.

- TOUCHDOWN: Georgia strikes first. Stetson Bennett finds a wide-open Brock Bowers who strolls into the endzone for the score. 10:49 left in the quarter. Michigan 0, Georgia 7

- TURNOVER ON DOWNS: Michigan finds itself in a fourth-and-short just past midfield and cannot convert. Michigan's defense is in a pressure situation in the early stages. 7:59 left in the quarter.

- TOUCHDOWN: Michigan is in trouble early. Georgia sells a halfback pass to perfection as the Bulldogs get on the board once again. 4:41 left in the quarter. Michigan 0, Georgia 14

END OF QUARTER: Michigan 0, Georgia 14

Pregame

- Dax Hill is with the team and in uniform, which is a pretty good indicator of his status for tonight's game.

- For all uniform watchers out there, the Wolverines appear to be wearing the all-blue combination tonight.

- No hidden surprises regarding the status of Michigan players. It all appears everyone is in uniform outside of the usual in Ronnie Bell.
