Michigan Basketball: Mark Donnal Is Headed To Clemson
Former Michigan big man Mark Donnal is headed to Clemson as a graduate transfer. Donnal was also considering Vanderbilt and Creighton.
Donnal told TheWolverine.com and others April 12 he was looking for minutes and an offense that fit his outside/in playing style. He shot 50 percent from three-point range this year, though he played only 12.2 minutes per game.
"I kind of see it as another fresh start," he said. "To be able to come into another program and try to prove yourself to another team, it's exciting. It is kind of weird to start the recruiting process over again, but it comes with college basketball sometimes. I'm excited for next year.
"I'm looking for a place that fits how I play offensively, that spreads the floor a little bit and allows their five the freedom to step out and shoot."
He also said he'd like to start.
Donnal averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in 101 career games at Michigan, including 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds this year. He will have one season of eligibility as a graduate transfer.
The Tigers finished 17-16 last season and lost in the first round of the NIT.
