Five-star Michigan cornerback commit Will Johnson had an opportunity to bond with a future teammate last weekend.
Both Johnson and four-star Michigan defensive back pledge Kody Jones took part in the Pylon 7v7 Indianapolis tournament and earned invitations to the All-American Game in December.
The two competed on the field and hung out with each other on Saturday night. Overall, Johnson said it was a great experience.
“It was cool,” Johnson said. “It was good to see him in action and finally meet him. We’ve been talking a lot over social media and everything. I think he’s definitely going to be a great nickel under Coach Mo (Maurice Linguist). I feel like me and him can be part of a great secondary.”
The tournament also gave Johnson an opportunity to play with one of Michigan top targets this cycle in four-star athlete Dillon Tatum. Johnson and Tatum locked things down in the secondary for Max Ex and led their team to the semifinals.
Johnson and Tatum are enjoying playing with each other on the club 7v7 circuit this offseason. And yes, Johnson is constantly in his ear.
