Michigan Football: NFL Wolverines, How They Fared — Week Three

Linebacker Jake Ryan (47) is starting in his second year in Green Bay. (USA TODAY)

Former Michigan (and CMU) running back Thomas Rawls has a hairline fracture in his fibula, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, and could be out for a month. Rawls entered the season coming off of ankle surgery and only played two snaps in the preseason, then suffered a shin injury in the second quarter of game two and sat out the second half.

ESPN Stats & Information reported Rawls is averaging 0.21 yards before contact, which ranks last out of 45 qualifying players. He sat out Sunday’s 37-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

“I think in time you’ll see our running backs settle in a little bit,” head coach Pete Carroll told ESPN. “I think Thomas has been a little overexcited about hitting the line of scrimmage. I think his patience is coming, and if we can get him back out this week, I think it will be really important for him to get more carries.”
