Michigan is in good shape at cornerback in 2018 with commitments from four stars Gemon Green and Myles Sims but that didn't keep Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard four-star cornerback Stanley Garner from including Michigan in his top six.

It'll be U-M, Tennessee, Clemson, Alabama, Louisville or Kentucky for Garner according to his newly minted list of favorites with Michigan likely being somewhere in the lower half of that group. Cornerback recruiting is a bit of a grey area for Michigan right now with three versatile secondary commits already in the fold and a few other prospects above Garner on the board.

Michigan might not be leading for Garner but there is still some intrigue there because of his size. At 6-3, 180 pounds, Garner fits the mold that Mike Zordich looks for in corners. Back in March, Garner outlined that and explained what things were like between he and U-M's cornerbacks coach.

"Michigan is recruiting me hard," Garner said. "They like me because I'm tall. Being tall gives me a better chance at the ball. When I see smaller receivers I just think in my head 'speed' because most small receivers are fast and quick but a corner like me loves to get my hands on those guys.

"Coach Mike [Zordich] hits me up every week. He makes me feel like a pretty big priority."

The attention has definitely slowed between U-M and Garner following commitments from the Green twins and Sims but according to Garner's top list, the door isn't completely closed between the Florida native and the Wolverines.
