Michigan Makes Top Five For Maurice Bell

Michigan has made the Top 5 for Murrieta (Calif.) Murrieta Valley three-star wide receiver Maurice Bell. The 6-0, 175-pounder announced via Twitter that the Wolverines are still being considered along with Iowa, Colorado, Washington State, and Arizona.

In mid-April, it seemed like Nebraska or Michigan really intrigued Bell the most. With a Top 5 established, the Huskers have noticeably faded away.

Another Big Ten foe could be considered the favorite right now. After an Iowa visit it sounded like the Hawkeyes could be in the driver's seat for Bell. The trip to Iowa seemed to have surprised the him – how much he liked it, how much is going on in that program – and that’s going to be taken into serious consideration when he analyzes all the schools.

About a week ago, Bell said that he still plans to decide in June, possibly on the 10th, his birthday, but he's now saying that he plans to camp at Michigan June 17. If a commitment does not occur around his birthday and a Michigan visit takes place after, that will be pretty telling in terms of how seriously he's considering the Maize and Blue.

Bell earned second-team all-league honors as a junior after hauling in 58 passes for 956 yards and 16 touchdowns, and helping Murrieta Valley to nine victories. He is considered the No. 81 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 47 player in California.
