Michigan's Drake Nugent appears on Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List

Could the Michigan football program have back-to-back Rimington Trophy winners this season? It appears at least one more Wolverine should at least compete for the award.

The Rimington Trophy announced on Friday that Wolverines center Drake Nugent is one of 40 centers that appear on the Preseason Watch List.

Nugent transferred to U-M during the offseason from Stanford. He has played in 27 games with 24 starts at center for the Cardinal.

He is expected to compete with Greg Crippen during camp for the starting center role. He missed all of spring practice with the program due to offseason surgery.

U-M's Olu Oluwatimi won the award last season.
