2016 Projection

Onwenu wants to lose 30 pounds before he arrives at Michigan, and much of his first year at U-M will likely consist of getting his body in shape. He's powerful but raw and will likely need to improve his footwork to cope with Big Ten pass rushers before he sees the field at Michigan.

They Said It

Rivals.com Midwest Recruiting Analyst Josh Helmholdt: "Obviously at his size he is a giant young man, but he's very athletic at that size. His size gives him an immediate strtength advantage over almost every defensive lineman he goes against. He's definitely an interior lineman, and in that role, as long as he keeps the action is in front of him, he'll be very difficult for a defensive lineman to get around. He is one of those guards defensive linemen hate to see because he is such a difficult matchup for them."

Cass Tech Head Coach Thomas Wilcher: "He's very quick and agile for such a large young man. He was born a big kid, and he knows how to move that weight. On top of that, he's very strong. He's got some super-human strength ... He's not an overweight kid. He's just a big kid - big thighs, big legs, big hips, big broad shoulders. He's one massive young man."
