Michigan Wolverines Football Commit Updates: Weekend of Sept. 21

High school football is in full swing and every Michigan commit is now playing. Here's a look at how the future Wolverines did on the gridiron:

Quarterback

Last Game: McNamara sat out of last week's game with a minor injury, but Damont Ranch still picked up a 48-7 win over Hug.

Note: Early Friday, McNamara tweeted out his status for the fifth game of the season: "Upset to say I will be missing my first game ever in a Damonte jersey. But my role won’t change as a leader and I know my teammates will ball out."

Season Totals: McNamara is 57-of-102 passing (55.8 percent) for 853 yards and eight touchdowns against four interceptions for a passer rating of 93.3 … He also has rushed 31 times for 22 yards and two touchdowns.

Team Record: 5-0. Damonte Ranch is ranked No. 3 in Nevada and No. 214 nationally by MaxPreps.com.

Running Back

Last Game: Charbonnet and Oaks Christian absolutely trounced Bakersfield Christian, 83-0. Charbonnet hardly had to play but still carried the ball 12 times for 88 yards and a touchdown. He also had two catches for another 59 yards.

Note: The game was televised live on ESPNU but was out of hand so quickly that Charbonnet didn't see the field in the second half.

Season Totals: Charbonnet is up to 918 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 93 totes, averaging more than 150 rushing yards per game and 9.8 yards per attempt. He also has 14 tackles, one interception (which he returned 31 yards), two passes defended and a forced fumble.

Team Record: 6-0. Oaks Christian is the No. 16 team in the country according to MaxPreps.com and No. 15 nationally per USA Today.

Last Game: Gray didn't have to carry it many times to be effective, rushing 11 times for 198 yards (18-yard average) and five touchdowns in a 55-14 win over St. George's. He also had one catch for 26 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

Notes: Lausanne has the longest win streak in history by a Shelby County school at 32 in a row, breaking Memphis University School’s 28-game stretch.

Season Totals: Gray has carried the ball 93 times for 1,136 yards (12.2 yards per carry) and 18 scores. He has also brought in three passes for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Team Record: 5-0. Lausanne Collegiate School is the No. 8 team in Tennessee per MaxPreps.

Last Game: Jackson only carried the ball three times for nine yards, but he caught six passes for 85 yards in a 14-7 win over then-undefeated Antioch.

Season Totals: Statistics on MaxPreps.com only have four of Freedom's first six games listed, but Jackson has been productive, posting 19 carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 23 catches for 376 yards and four scores in that time. Additionally, he has a 65-yard punt return touchdown and 100 interception return yards and two more scores on two picks for a team-high nine touchdowns through those four tilts.

Team Record: 5-1. Freedom is the No. 57 school in California per MaxPreps.

Wide Receiver

Last Game: Branham and Northland picked up their third win of the season with a 54-12 victory over Mifflin. Branham is playing quarterback this year and was 8-of-18 passing (44.4 percent) for 165 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the ball six times for 77 yards.

Notes: Northland has now strung together three wins in a row after opening the season 0-2.

Season Totals: On the season, Branham is 46-of-86 passing (53.5 percent) for 681 yards with seven touchdowns against three interceptions. He has carried the ball 41 times for 239 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and another four scores.

Team Record: 3-2.

Last Game: Kent and St. Edward were off last week.

Season Totals: Through four games, Kent has 25 catches for 304 yards (12.2 yards per catch) and four touchdowns, plus a kickoff return touchdown.

Team Record: 2-2. Despite the slow start, St. Edward is ranked No. 6 in the state and No. 81 nationally by MaxPreps, and No. 3 in Cleveland by Cleveland.com.

Tight End

Last Game: All and his squad posted a 41-27 victory over Lakota East. The four-star tight end had nine catches for 149 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Season Totals: All has 12 catches for 175 yards (14.6 yards per catch) and a touchdown through five games.

Team Record: 4-1. Fairfield is considered the No. 24 team in the state of Ohio by MaxPreps.com.

Last Game: The younger brother of U-M quarterback Shea Patterson and his squad were off last weekend.

Season Totals: On the season, Patterson has 14 receptions for 159 yards (11.4 yards per catch).

Team Record: 0-2-1.

Offensive Line

Last Game: Paw Paw fell to Three Rivers, 26-0, last Friday. Barnhart was held in check and recorded just one tackle for loss in the defeat.

Team Record: 3-2.

Last Game: Moeller defeated another power from the state of Ohio in St. Xavier, 19-14 on Friday.

Team Record: 4-1. Moeller is considered the No. 23 team in the state of Ohio by MaxPreps.com.

Last Game: Grayson fell to another Georgia power, Colquitt County, 26-14.

Team Record: 3-2. Grayson is now the No. 6 team in the state and No. 48 squad in the country, according to MaxPreps.com after the loss. Grayson has fallen out of the USA Today's top 25, while Colquitt County now checks in as the No. 21 team in the country, the spot previously occupied by Grayson.

Last Game: Hoban continues to roll after defeating St. Vincent-St. Mary, 35-3.

Notes: The matchup between Hoban and SVSM has been dubbed "The Holy War" and is one of the more famous high school rivalries in the country. In 2017, a documentary called "The Akron Holy War" was created outlining the battle between the two Akron, Ohio, parochial powerhouses and the city that embraces them. The film documents nearly 60 years of history and shows the rivalry from both sides.

Team Record: 5-0. Hoban is the No. 3 team in the state of Ohio and the No. 30 team in the country, according to MaxPreps.com. USA Today lists them No. 20 in the nation.

Last Game: New Canaan has now strung together back-to-back wins with a 48-7 beatdown of Trumbull.

Team Record: 2-1, New Canaan is ranked No. 8 in the state by MaxPreps.

Defensive Line

Last Game: Greater Atlanta Christian won 51-20 over East Hall. Hinton recorded four tackles, including one for loss and two sacks in the win.

Season Totals: Through five games, Hinton has tallied 22 stops (13 solo) with five sacks and an additional tackle for loss.

Team Record: 3-2. MaxPreps lists Greater Atlanta Christian as the No. 41 team in the state. The team has dropped two games by just seven combined points.

Last Game: Morris recorded seven tackles, including a tackle for loss, in a 44-0 win over Archbishop McCarthy. American Heritage was up 31-0 at halftime, keeping Morris relegated to the sideline for the second half.

Season Totals: Morris has recorded 30 tackles, including nine for loss. He has also caused a fumble and blocked a punt, which he returned for a touchdown.

Team Record: 4-0. MaxPreps lists the team No. 48 in Florida.

Last Game: Northmont fell to Wayne, 49-20. Stats were not available.

Season Totals: In one game and about a quarter, Newburg has recorded six tackles with two for loss.

Team Record: 4-1. Northmont is considered the No. 26 team in the state of Ohio by MaxPreps.com.

Last Game: Blair Academy is now 2-0 after a 30-15 win over Wyoming Seminary College Prep. Ojabo recorded four tackles, including three for loss and a sack.

Season Totals: Ojabo has notched 11 tackles, four sacks and three tackles for loss.

Team Record: 2-0. MaxPreps lists Blair Academy as the No. 42 team in the state.

Last Game: Smith and East Kentwood notched a 37-30 victory over Grandville. The big defensive lineman recorded nine tackles and three quarterback hurries in the win.

Season Totals: On the year, Smith has 24 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, a sack and 12 quarterback pressures. He's also carried the ball three times for three yards and a touchdown.

Team Record: 4-1. East Kentwood is considered the No. 10 team in the state of Michigan by MaxPreps.com.

Last Game: Warren and West Aurora got back in the win column after a 27-12 victoryover Bartlett. The defensive tackle had two tackles and a sack in the game.

Season Totals: MaxPreps doesn't have West Aurora's season opener listed, but Warren has totaled 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks in the games since the opener.

Team Record: 4-1. West Aurora is listed as the No.96 team in the state by MaxPreps.

Last Game: Woods had three tackles and a sack in a 55-6 win over Wayne Memorial. Woods even started the game at quarterback and played there for two series. He was used mostly to run a power attack, but also attempted a pass.

Season Totals: Woods has recorded 26 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sack and one pass breakup through four games on defense. He also has two catches for 80 yards and a score.

Team Record: 5-0. Belleville is considered the No. 11 team in the state of Michigan by MaxPreps.com.

Linebacker

Last Game: Thomas and St. Thomas More were off last week.

Team Record: 1-1. MaxPreps lists St. Thomas More as the No. 22 program in the state.

Cornerback

Last Game: Seldon didn't record a stat in a 55-6 win over Wayne Memorial. Teams are starting to test him less and less after some really nice interceptions and plays on the ball earlier in the season.

Season Totals: Seldon has recorded 11 tackles, three interceptions and five pass breakups through five games.

Team Record: 5-0. Belleville is considered the No. 11 team in the state of Michigan by MaxPreps.com.

Last Game: IMG Academy lost a very close contest to the No. 1 team in the country, Mater Dei out of Santa Ana, Calif., 28-24.

Season Totals: Turner has recorded four tackles, including one for loss, two pass breakups and an interception returned for a touchdown through the first three games.

Team Record: 3-1. IMG Academy is considered the No. 3 team in the country by MaxPreps.com and USA Today. They'll have another big test this week when they face Miami (Fla.) Northwestern.

Safety

Last Game: Hill and Booker T. picked up a big 43-6 win over Bartlesville last week. No stats were available.

Season Totals: None available.

Team Record: 2-2. Booker T. Washington is considered the No. 7 team in the state of Oklahoma by MaxPreps.com.

Last Game: St. John's College High picked up a big 21-14 win over Marietta (Ga.). Stats were not available.

Team Record: 2-1. St. John's College High is considered the No. 1 team in Maryland and the No. 5 team in the country by MaxPreps.com and USA Today.

Last Game: St. Francis DeSales took on Covington Catholic (Ky.) but fell 35-14. Velazquez carried the ball eight times for 23 yards and also had two receptions for 15 yards. On defense, he notched 10 tackles, including 3.5 for loss. He also caused a fumble.

Season Totals: Velazquez has made 39 tackles, including 12 for loss, and forced five fumbles on the season. He's also carried the ball 59 times for 347 yards (5.9 yards per carry) and four scores, and has 12 receptions for 84 yards.

Team Record: 3-2. St. Francis DeSales is considered the No. 83 team in the state of Ohio by MaxPreps.com.

Athlete

Last Game: Martin County fell 30-0 to Centennial last week. Stats from the game were not available.

Season Totals: Through five games, Johnson is 31-of-69 passing (44.9 percent) for 512 yards and five touchdowns. He has also rushed 52 times for 293 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and two more scores with five receptions for 102 yards and an additional touchdown.

Team Record: 1-4.
