True Buzz is keeping the trophy home.

The Dallas-based program had a dominant day on Sunday and took home the title at this weekend’s Pylon 7v7 Dallas tournament.

After stumbling a bit in group play, True Buzz looked like the national power its known as on Day 2 and ran through the field, ousting fellow top Dallas-area program Texas Flex and taking down Louisiana Elite in the championship game.

True Buzz was terrific on the defensive side of the ball. Led by elite 2023 linebacker Anthony Hill and rising 2023 defensive backs Jamel Johnson and Deldrick Madison, True Buzz was able to shut down most of its opponents, surrendering fewer than 14 points in every elimination game.

The True Buzz offense wasn’t too shabby either. SMU wide receiver commit Savion Red was named the tournament’s MVP thanks in large part to a sensational performance in the finale. Prospects like quarterback Garret Rangel and wide receiver Jace Wilson also played big roles.

While Louisiana Elite came up short, it showed that it belonged on the big stage. A fairly new program, Louisiana Elite features some top talent from The Boot, including LSU wide receiver pledge Aaron Anderson, who was unstoppable throughout the event.

Texas Ice, which won Pylon Dallas last summer, and Iconic out of East Texas were the other tournament semifinalists.

Meanwhile, Bullitt, Keller Indians, Grand Elite and Power Five, which came down all the way from Michigan, made runs to the quarterfinals.

The Pylon 7v7 circuit will head to Philadelphia this weekend.
