Ron Johnson goes Blue

Where some saw disappointment when the U-M coaches missed on in-state standout Khalid Kareem yesterday, the staff instead saw opportunity. That paid off today with a commitment from Camden (N.J.) defensive end Ron Johnson.

Johnson is a 6-3, 221-pound four-star ranked the No. 6 weakside defensive end nationally, the No. 109 overall player in the country, and the fifth-best player in New Jersey. He becomes Michigan's 20th commitment in the class, and moves U-M's class to No. 6 nationally, passing Alabama.
He is currently on campus in Ann Arbor on an unofficial visit with several friends: 2017 teammate Cesar Ruiz (a four-star offensive lineman), and 2016 prospects Naseir Upshur and Ahmir Mitchell, both four-stars.
Stay tuned for more to come from Johnson.
