Detroit East English Village four-star offensive center Tyrone Sampson won a large majority of his reps over the weekend at the Elite Big Man Camp in Wixom, Mich. The 6-3, 304-pounder is a bit stocky but really looks the part of a big-time college center.

Strengths

Sampson has great size and moves incredibly well for someone built like he is. He has an enormous trunk and also has very big arms. His length is solid for the position and his initial punch with those heavy arms is substantial. He seems to do well whether he's quick setting a bull-rushing interior type or dropping for depth against speedier guys. Throw in the fact that Sampson is very solid with the ball and you have the making of the nations. No. 2 center and No. 3 player in the state of Michigan.

Areas To Improve

Even though Sampson does do well with speedy guys he could stand to improve in that area. It's not something he'll see a ton of playing center but when there is an undersized, quick interior d-lineman in front of him he tends to get a bit out of position trying to keep up with the speed. Beyond that, Sampson is quite solid and will almost certainly hang on to that No. 2 positional ranking throughout his senior season.

With offers from Akron, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Syracuse, Toledo, Virginia and Western Michigan, things definitely have not topped out for Sampson yet. Michigan State seems to be one school that could really make some noise should they offer the four-star center and that should eventually happen. Had Michigan not landed the nation's top center in Cesar Ruiz in 2017, Sampson may be a bit more of a priority for U-M. The Wolverine staff has only handed out one offer to a center in the 2018 class that that belongs the nation's top prospect at the position, Daniel Dawkins out of Highstown (N.J.) The Peddie School.

Sampson could very well end up at Michigan State if the offer comes through. Several other Big Ten schools should get involved because he's solid and will live up to the four-star status.
