Cedar Hill (Texas) High three-star defensive tackle Shabazz Dotson hasn't heard from Michigan much in recent months but that has not changed his view of the program at all. The 6-3, 270-pounder gave his thoughts on U-M and explained why he's still high on the Wolverines despite not much contact.

"I haven't talked to anyone in a while but I still have a lot of interest in Michigan," Dotson said. "I mean it's Michigan. Coach [Jim] Harbaugh is a great coach and I think he has what it takes to get me to the next level."

Getting to Ann Arbor would be a big step in Dotson's recruitment and that's something he hopes to set up in the near future.

"I haven't really discussed a visit with the coaches but I want to get up there," he said. "I would love to come and check out Michigan."

Even though U-M might not be targeting him much right now that could certainly change. If not, other schools are giving him the attention he's looking for and are making him feel like a priority.

"Right now I would say Texas is recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I visited them last week. I've also been to Houston, Baylor, TCU and SMU."

Moving forward, the No. 25 defensive tackle really only has one visit in mind.

"Michigan," he said. "That's really the only visit I really want to take right now. As of now that's the one I want to set up."

Dotson may not be at the top of the board for Michigan but he's a big, athletic defensive tackle in Texas. His position and his location may keep him in the mix until he's ready to make his decision.
