I've held out for a few weeks but I think we're in the clear now so keep an eye on a '94 birth year from Dubuque. He hasn't been offered yet and might not, but he's one to watch.

at a D-1 level.  Hopefully he will keep working hard.  Anyone else a little suprised that he was picked as the all-tournament goalie?  It almost always goes to the winning team's goalie (usually makes sense).  With about 10 minutes left yesterday I was thinking that Racine might get picked, even if we lost, because he faced so much more rubber than Summerhays in their respective 2 games, but in the last part of the third period Summerhays made some big saves so I was figuring he would get picked.

I voted for Summerhays. I don't know how Tynan was named MVP either. What the hell did that kid do?

I thought Summerhays would get it as the winning goalie, but I felt Racine deserved it and glad he got it.  Remember, it's based on the whole weekend, not just the championship game.  Summerhays had some big saves in the third period--what few chances Michigan actually got--but Racine was big the whole game.  He faced a ton of shots to keep Michigan in the game.  Combine that with his performance against Miami--a 33 save performance against the #1 seed--and he earned it.  Summerhays faced only 17 shots against Ohio State in their semifinal contest.

I agree with his level of play, too.  I remember mentioning early in the season after U-M's weekend here in Marquette about how I liked Racine over Rutledge, but I wasn't sure yet if he could carry the team.  At the time I was more confident with him in net and he showed flashes of great play.  To see him, and the team, put it all together this past month gives me hope that with or without another goalie coming in next season that we will be okay if he can sustain that level of play.

Although no Notre Dame player clearly stood out to me as their best player for the weekend (because, frankly, they were all good), I think I would have picked Johns.  However, Tynan did score the GWG against OSU and it was sort of a nifty goal.

Definitely good to see Racine pick up his game. The play in front of him helped a lot also and I think that just helps build his confidence.
