Michigan made some major waves in the 2026 recruiting class by securing the commitment of four-star quarterback Brady Hart. Hart was in Ann Arbor over the weekend and it didn't take too long for him to realize that U-M was the place for him.

To know what the Wolverines is getting, you have to go straight to the source, to those who know him best.

Hart's QB Trainer, Baylin Trujillo, has watched his star pupil grow and develop into the highly sought after prospect he is today.

At the end of the day, though, the Wolverines are getting a high-character person that likes to live outside of the spotlight.

"Brady Hart is a blue-collar hard-working kid who respects everyone he comes in contact with and just loves to sit on a boat and fish," Trujillo told Maize & Blue Review. "He’s a southern Christian kid who loves sports and only accepts greatness in everything he does both on and off the field. He is an outstanding student-athlete and is surrounded by greatness from his coaches at Cocoa to his dad who is a former professional athlete and his mom who supports everything he does. He is a great brother to his siblings and a great role model to the younger kids that he trains with when training with me. He is the total package and just an overall great human being."

As for what he brings to the football field, Trujillo sees Hart's game resembling one of a former Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

A highly competitive player who Trujillo belives has a very bright future ahead of him.

"Brady reminds me of Aaron Rodgers," Trujillo said. "He has a fluid release that he can create velocity and power both in the pocket on platform as well as on the move. He’s very accurate with the ball and understands the pocket when moving and evading. I’ve really trained him hard in his development especially early on when he was in 8th grade, so watching him now, what impressed me the most is his ability to stand firm in chaos, take shots in the pocket while being accurate and plays with a chip on his shoulder.

"He’s a confident player and plays his best when it’s against the best competition. He lead cocoa to a 14-1 record with arguably the hardest schedule in the toughest state in the country. And the one game they lost was against the #1 team in the state, St. Thomas Aquinas, and he threw 500 yards and 5 TDs in a game in which he was taking a knee to win the game and somehow lost. Brady is the real deal and could very well be the number one overall quarterback with the best resume when it’s all said and done in his high school career."

Hart's recruitment process has taken a few twists and turns, especially of late. With Clemson being the perceived front-runner heading into his trip to Ann Arbor, the Wolverines were able to seize all the momentum from the Tigers.

The Wolverines received a major assist from J.J. McCarthy and his family, Trujillo says. McCarthy called Hart while he was in Columbus and had a heart-to-heart, no pun intended.

The phone call had enough of an impact that he committed to the Wolverines while in Columbus on a visit to Ohio State.

"Brady Harts recruitment has been very exciting," Trujillo said. "Every college coach that has the chance to talk with him and meeting in person have all said the same things. He’s a great mature young man with an extremely talented arm and has a great supporting cast with his family. I have had the pleasure to navigate his recruiting as his trainer, being the main source of his contact with college coaches for the past year before June 15th hit, which to no surprise now, he was at Michigan when the 2026 class was able to communicate directly with coaches. Brady Hart took his recruiting serious and we’ve had plenty of late night conversations during the spring and now after each camp that he’s attended and earned offers from. His plan was to not rush his decision and he ultimately had a plan of December being the month of his commitment. But I am a firm believer in trusting your heart & following through your peace from our Lord that once you get that, make the commitment so others don’t make it first.

"Thats exactly what happened this past weekend when Brady spent 2 long days with the entire Michigan staff, including the McCarthy family, and they made him feel at home. So Michigan is getting a kid who was the first quarterback to earn a Clemson offer, who just received a prestigious offer from Ohio State, who was in the top tier on everyone’s board for commitments like Miami, Penn State, UNC, LSU, Texas A&M and as we know now, Michigan."
