Michigan made a late overture to Detroit Renaissance offensive tackle prospect Alaric Jackson, a three-star prospect. In the end, however, Jackson committed to the school he almost pledged to Feb. 1.
Jackson was set to reveal his college decision on Monday afternoon when U-M called. The Wolverines lost four-star tackle prospect Devery Hamilton to Stanford and were likely looking for a replacement.
Jackson had narrowed his choice to Iowa, Iowa State, and Nebraska and had taken official visits to both Iowa City and Ames in late January. He canceled his trip to Lincoln and listened to U-M before choosing the Hawkeyes at a press conference at his school.
