The 6-0, 204-pounder is a three-star and the No. 95 overall prospect in the state of Florida, according to Rivals.com. His commitment takes the Wolverines to 17 pledges in the class, and leaves U-M ranked No. 8 in the Rivals.com Team Recruiting Rankings.
U-M is still seeking to complete the trio with a commitment from the highest-ranked of the bunch, four-star linebacker Devin Bush Jr. (joining a commitment from safety Josh Metellus Wednesday). Bush's father is the head coach at Flanagan High School, and the group visited Ann Arbor over the weekend.
More to come on Gil's commitment.
