Four-Star Tight End Jeremy Ruckert Releases His Top Four
Lindenhurst (N.Y.) Lindenhurst Senior four-star tight end Jeremy Ruckert released his top four schools Monday evening on Twitter, and Michigan made the cut.
Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin made up the rest of his top four, and Ruckert also said a decision will be coming within the “next few weeks.”
The four-star tight end struggled a bit over the past few months at a number of camps, and as a result fell from No. 134 overall to No. 209 in the most recent Rivals rankings update. He also dropped from the No. 5 tight end in the country to the No. 8. With that being said, though, he is still certainly one of the most coveted players in the country at his position.
Michigan did not sign a tight end in last year’s class, and will definitely be looking to nab one in this year’s cycle.
On the field, the Wolverines will be incredibly young at the position in 2017 – here’s a look at every scholarship tight end on the roster, ranked from eldest to youngest:
Ian Bunting (redshirt junior)
Tyrone Wheatley Jr. (redshirt sophomore)
Zach Gentry (redshirt sophomore)
Nick Eubanks (sophomore)
Sean McKeon (sophomore)
Michigan was actually the first school to ever talk to Ruckert, reaching out to him all the way back in May, 2015. It’ll be interesting to see if the lengthy relationship will be enough for the Wolverines to land him.
