Spring Grove, Pa. point guard Eli Brooks just received an offer from his childhood favorite. Brooks had Michigan near the top of his short list following a visit last month, but a trip to Villanova and another great weekend in front of the Wildcats' coaches likely make 'Nova the prohibitive favorite.

Brooks told TheWolverine.com recently that he loved everything about U-M, especially how the players fit in the community. He also said 'Nova was his school growing up, only an hour and a half drive from his house.

Though unranked, Brooks has blown up this spring and summer in earning offers from N.C. State, Kansas State and others. He told TheWolverine.com he wouldn't take any other visits - we expect him to decide soon.

At the Summer Jam in Mequon, Wis., U-M pledge Jordan Poole (6-3, Rivals.com's No. 102 senior) had an outstanding weekend. From Rivals.com:

Four-star shooting guard Jordan Poole, who committed to Michigan in October told us that he's been tuning up his game and the results are starting to show. Poole penetrated the lane at will and dished to teammates, he used pick and rolls effectively and he made shots. In fact, he is getting his shot off faster. The No. 102-ranked prospect in the 2017 Rivals150 scored 11 points but only played about half of the game in a lopsided Playground Elite win.
