"It feels really good. It was always one of my dreams," Brooks said. “I looked up at the banner and saw the record a few years ago, but my dad made sure I did it the right way.”

Brooks finished with 25 points to move to 1,699 in his career. He followed up with 30 in a 75-59 loss at rival Northeastern to lead the Rockets in defeat Jan. 3, including 15 with three triples in the third quarter.

"I didn't have that many shot attempts the past four games. I think I was only at, like, 13,” Brooks told GameTimePa.com (highlights included). “They wanted me to get it up to at least 20 in order to win. That was definitely a big factor [in getting 30 points]."

He’s now got his eyes on the 2,000-point mark.

Brooks is averaging 25.5 points per game for 5-3 Spring Grove, which next plays Dallastown Jan. 6.

Finally, Detroit East English Village point guard David DeJulius, U-M’s first class of 2018 pledge, hasn’t played since Dec. 26, when he made 11 straight baskets and had 31 points with 2:58 left in the third quarter of a 92-77 win over Wayne Memorial, the Detroit News reports.
