Jim Harbaugh has hired former Kansas State head coach Ron Prince to be an offensive analyst on his staff.

Prince will fill the role that was previously held by Ed Warinner, who was announced as the team's offensive line coach on Thursday.

The 48-year old Prince has a long history of coaching, and most recently served as the Detroit Lions' tight ends coach in 2014 and 2015, and then their offensive line coach in 2016 and 2017.

Before that, he was Rutgers' offensive coordinator in 2013, and made stops with the Indianapolis Colts from 2010-2011 and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012.

Prince is best known, though, for serving as Kansas State's head coach from 2006-2008, where he posted an overall record of 17-20.

The 48-year old also spent time in the collegiate ranks at Virginia (2001-2005, 2009), Cornell (1998-2000), James Madison (1995-1997), South Carolina State (1994), Alabama A&M (1993) and Dodge City Community College (1992).

Michigan has seen plenty of shuffle on its offensive staff since the 2017 season ended — offensive coordinator Tim Drevno resigned on Feb. 23 and has since become running backs coach at USC, while former Florida head man Jim McElwain was brought on to presumably be the team's new offensive coordinator.

Tackles/tight ends coach Greg Frey also departed for Florida State in early January, and was replaced by former Central Michigan assistant Sherrone Moore.

Scott Turner, meanwhile, served as an offensive analyst for U-M in 2017, but left to become the Carolina Panthers' quarterbacks coach on Jan. 10.
