According to NBCSports.com, Michigan's lone known recruiting target still on the 2018 board — Tampa Berkeley Prep five-star offensive tackle Nick Petit-Frere — will announce his college decision at 10 a.m. on ESPNU on National Signing Day (Wednesday, Feb. 7).

Petit-Frere has long been considered one of Michigan's top targets in the class, and recently made a steady climb up the Rivals rankings.

In the final rankings update two weeks ago, Petit-Frere climbed from being a four-star and the No. 67 overall player in the country, to a five-star and No. 11 overall.

His ascent now has him rated as the top overall offensive linemen in the nation.

Michigan is one of five finalists for the 6-5, 265-pounder, along with Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame and Ohio State.

The Crimson Tide visited with Petit-Frere on Monday, while the Gators, Wolverines and Buckeyes spent time with him on Wednesday.

Dominick Ciao, the head coach at Berkeley Prep, recently spoke with InsideTheGators.com, and had this to say:

“There is no, 'He's leaning here or not going there,'" Ciao said. "There are no secrets here with him — he has five schools. No one has been cut and he is still assessing all the schools with no leader. That's where he is right now. That's the story.

“I see the talk out there, but it's talk. After every visit I talk to him and his mom - we go over where everything stands. I am telling you, he doesn't have a leader and he's not eliminated any of the five he has visited. We're not going to allow coaches to continue to spend their time recruiting him if they aren't a real option, if they aren't still in it.”

Ciao concluded by noting there won't be any "big production," and that he'll just
"let the coaches [of the school he chooses] know and sign."

Michigan's class currently sits at No. 15 nationally, and would obviously receive a major boost if it was able to land the five-star.
