Westerville (Ohio) Westerville South elite punter Brad Robbins announced via Twitter that has accepted a scholarship at the University of Michigan.
Two-star prospects normally don't wow fanbases but kickers don't usually receive any indicating that the 6-2, 180-pound Robbins is quite good at his craft. Robbins is considered the No. 1 punter in the country for the 2017 class by Kornblue Kicking, a specialist camp and training program ran by former Michigan kicker Brandon Kornblue.
Here's what is says about Robbins on Kornblue's website:
"Bradley is the Fab 50’s top nationally ranked punter for the class of 2017. He earned the top spot after the Fall 2016 Kornblue Kicking Challenge event (Dec. 31, 2016). His punting performance included punts of 5.06s/46 yards & 5.04s/54 yards. He was named Punting Champion for the class of 2017 and earned the highest point total, including the JUCO/college transfer level.
"At our Ohio Fab 50 Camp (July 2016), we charted Bradley on 10 punts. Best charted punt was 4.94s/47 yards. He averaged 4.37s/41 yards (0-5 mph crosswind).
"Bradley’s athleticism sets him apart from many punters. He took a poor snap and ran nearly 100 yards (from goal line to goal line) for a touchdown this season. He can dunk too. CLICK HERE to check out a game clip.
"Earning our highest ranking includes strength, consistency, operation time, athleticism, and character. Brad has all these traits. His operation times and consistency improved after recent private training in Florida, where we shortened his steps and adjusted to more of a two-step approach. Bradley has a punter’s frame but also has the ability to kick FG’s and kickoff."
