Michigan has added commitment No. 19 in the 2017 class from Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic strongside defensive end James Hudson.
The 6-5, 271-pounder is a four-star prospect that is ranked as the No. 8 strongside defensive end and No. 229 overall player in the nation.
Hudson is a large young man for a defensive end. His size and build makes him look more like an athletic interior defensive lineman but for now he's listed as an end.
Hudson becomes the fourth, four-star defensive lineman in Michigan's 2017 class joining Leesburg (Ga.) Lee Country defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon, Saint Joseph (Mich.) High School strongside defensive end Corey Malone-Hatcher, and Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal weakside defensive end Luiji Vilain. The Ohio native chose Michigan over Alabama, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee, and West Virginia among others. The in-state Buckeyes never offered Hudson so that could be something to pay attention to moving forward.
