Former Michigan signal-caller and current New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (played at U-M from 1995-1999) has been named to the NFL's All-Pro first team. The first team selection is the third of Brady's career — he also landed on it in 2007 and 2010, and was named to the NFL's All-Pro second team in 2005 and 2016.
The former Wolverine was also tabbed to this year's Pro Bowl squad as the starter, along with Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan (played at U-M from 2009-2013), who was also named a starter.
Incredibly, this is the 13th Pro Bowl selection of Brady's career, and the ninth consecutive (2001, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009-present). This is the second straight Pro Bowl trip for Lewan, meanwhile, who also made it last year.
At 40 years old, Brady completed 66.3 percent of his passes and threw for 4,577 yards this season, while also tossing 32 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.
His New England squad will take on Lewan's Titans in the playoffs on Jan. 13 in Foxborough.
The Pro Bowl will be played on Jan. 28 in Orlando.
