2016 Projection
Like Michigan rising sophomore Grant Perry, Hawkins has outstanding hands and has been noted for his strong work ethic, giving him a chance to earn his coaches' trust in fall camp next August. There isn't a pressing need for Hawkins to play right away, and he could use a year of strength and conditioning to improve his speed, but because he was such a productive player, he might be able to squeeze out a niche role in 2016.
They Said It
Rivals.com Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Analyst Adam Friedman: "Hawkins does a lot of things very well. He runs very crisp routes. He has very reliable hands, and he can make some very impressive catches over the middle and down the field towards the sideline. I like the way Hawkins has really worked at his craft. He has matured physically since last year and you can definitely see that it helps him break press coverage a lot better. He's an all-around player that can do everything. And there is the added benefit of him being a basketball player."
Camden Coach Dwayne Savage: "We try to get the ball in his hands. If he gets enough touches, we know he is going to do something special."
