After his strong performance against Northwestern, fifth-year senior defensive end Chase Winovich was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Big Ten.
This was the second time Winovich earned this honor. Against the Wildcats, Winovich had three tackles for loss, marking his 13th straight game with at least 0.5 tackles for loss. He had nine tackles, including a career-high eight solo tackles. He also had one sack.
The last Michigan Defensive Player of the Week was junior linebacker Khaleke Hudson, who won the award in November last season.
