Peters And Bredeson Named Gatorade POY

Michigan commits Avon (Ind.) senior quarterback Brandon Peters and Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead senior offensive guard Ben Bredeson have both won Gatorade Player of the Year awards for their respective states.
The winners were selected based on athletic production and impact in the 2015-16 season. Each winner also demonstrated high academic achievement and exemplary personal character, including volunteerism, sportsmanship and community leadership.

Bredeson is a four-star prospect and was a key piece to an offense that racked up 5,298 total yards and averaged 31.6 points per game. The Warhawks finished 12-1 and made it all the way to the Division I state championship game.
The 6-4, 280-pounder is a two-time first team all-state selection and is the No. 4 offensive guard and No. 60 player nationally, and is the top player in the state of Wisconsin. Bredeson has maintained a 3.28 GPA and is a member of his school's leadership council. The burly offensive lineman is also an accomplished pianist and a vocalist in his school's concert choir.
Peters is a four-star prospect, considered the No. 8 quarterback and No. 242 player nationally, and is the No. 3 player in Indiana. He led Avon to its first regional championship in a decade. He passed for 3,103 yards and 37 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He also scored three touchdowns on the ground.
The 6-4, 195-pounder is a first team all-state selection this year and will play in the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Peters has maintained a 3.5 GPA and is an accomplished basketball player at Avon. He has also volunteered as a youth football coach in the past and was part of a community clean-up effort after bad storms.
