Football season is officially here as high school games kicked off across the country over the last couple of weeks.

Several of Michigan’s commits are set to be back in action this weekend, while a number of other will get their years started. The Wolverine’s EJ Holland is also ready to hit the road to see Wolverine pledges and top targets.

Below you will find a preview of weekend games featuring Michigan commits as well as our own whereabouts on the recruiting trail.

The Wolverine On The Road

After stops in Nashville and Detroit, The Wolverine is set to make its way out to the Southwest to see one of Michigan's top remaining targets in three-star Owasso (Okla.) running back Isaiah Jacobs.

Owasso will host Fayetteville (Ark.) in a battle with state pride on the line. Jacobs, the younger brother of Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, is coming off a big game to open up the season and will be the focal point of the offense this week.

On the recruiting front, Jacobs is taking the process extremely slow. More schools are starting to show interest in the talented ball carrier, and he is still in the process of mapping out his official visit.

Michigan sent Jacobs an official offer letter last month, and head coach Jim Harbaugh personally got on the phone with with him.

While Michigan has Blake Corum in the fold as well as versatile prospects like Eamonn Dennis and AJ Henning, Jacobs is a powerful, every down back that the Wolverines would love to add this cycle.

Highlighting Three Commits

1. LB William Mohan, Brooklyn (N.Y.) Erasmus Hall

Mohan, a four-star prospect, is committed to Michigan as an outside linebacker, but he does a little bit of everything for his team at the high school level. Mohan will need to take over the game on both sides of the ball as Erasmus Hall takes on New Jersey powerhouse St. Peter's Prep, which features guys like Ohio State linebacker commit Cody Simon and 2021 defensive lineman George Rooks, who holds a Michigan offer.

2. Jordan Morant, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic

Morant and his teammates were supposed to open up their season against Florida power St. Thomas Aquinas last week. Unfortunately, Hurricane Dorian derailed this plans. Bergen Catholic will instead kick things off against Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Charter, which has produced several DI prospects. Morant is a commander for his team and will need to make sure the troops are ready.

3. QB JJ McCarthy, LaGrange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy

This isn't necessarily a big game for Nazareth Academy as Chicago (Ill.) Curie is an inferior opponent, but it is one for McCarthy. The 2021 Michigan quarterback commit threw four interceptions in a loss to St. Louis-area power Cardinal Ritter last week. McCarthy has a prime opportunity to rebound and make a statement this week.
