The 6-7, 280-pounder from Lawrenceville, N.J., is ranked the No. 199 prospect in the country according to Rivals.com, the No. 4 player in New Jersey and the No. 21 offensive tackle nationally. Newsome holds 29 offers, including Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina and Wisconsin.
Newsome becomes the seventh commitment in U-M's 2015 class, and its fifth four-star recruit. He is also the fourth future Wolverine ranked in the Rivals250, joining DB Garrett Taylor (No. 48), LB Darrin Kirkland (No. 167) and DB Tyree Kinnel (No. 193).
