Michigan is high on the list of several 2018 targets, but head coach John Beilein isn't waiting around for anyone to commit. He'll host yet another top 60 senior prospect today.
Talen Horton-Tucker has become one of the most sought-after prospects in his class after an outstanding summer. His final 13 schools include Dayton, Georgetown, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State, Saint Louis and Xavier ... and he's taking his time.
"During the summer, I remember a few conversations with coaches whose question was, "What's his position?" My response was always "on the floor." I don't care about labeling him a small forward or a shooting guard, I just know he's savvy, plays hard, is very productive and is still only 16 years old," Rivals.com's Eric Bossi said this summer.
Horton-Tucker played on the AAU Circuit this past spring with Mac Irvin Fire. In 13 games, he averaged 12.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He shot 43 percent from the field, and 30 percent from behind the 3-point line.
In July, he played with another Chicago program, Team Rose of the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit. He averaged 18.2 points and 7.2 rebounds there on 42 percent shooting.
Watch for more on this development in the days to come.
