Senior offensive lineman Mason Cole and fifth-year senior defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. have been named to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, going annually to the nation's top lineman.
Hurst recorded 33 tackles a year ago, including 11.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He considered a jump to the NFL following his fourth year as a Wolverine, but opted to come back and help lead the Wolverines' reloaded defense.
Cole has started for three seasons at center for the Wolverines. He moved to left tackle in the spring, and is expected to remain there for the 2017 season. Cole earned second-team All-Big Ten honors a year ago, while Hurst is also a two-time qualifier for the watch list of the Chuck Bednarik Award, including this season.
The Outland Trophy winner will be announced on Dec. 7.
