Fifth-year senior defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. and sophomore defensive end Rashan Gary have been named to the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, given annually to the nation's top defensive player.

Hurst recorded 33 tackles a year ago, including 11.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Gary supplied 24 tackles, including a sack among five TFLs. Both are expected to spearhead a revamped crew that led the nation in the total defense a year ago.

Jabrill Peppers, now of the NFL's Cleveland Browns, was a Nagurski Trophy finalist last season for the Wolverines.
