2016 Projection

As an early-enrollee, Davis will get his opportunity to earn a place in the running back rotation come the fall. However, with seniors De'Veon Smith and Drake Johnson likely to return, and with fellow freshman standout Kareem Walker by his side, a redshirt season seems the most likely outcome.

They Said It

Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst Rob Cassidy: "He’s one of the more physically impressive-looking running backs and looks like he could play a number of positions in college. If he stays at running back, he’s one of those guys who is going to impress you with his physique and is a downhill runner who can break tackles. It’s very hard to bring him down in space.

"He’s not a fleet-of-foot guy, not a track star, but he’s a nice combination of size and speed where he’s probably fast enough to get the job done. He really shines in the power game. I think he’s a versatile athlete when you consider his size, and it’ll be interesting to see how Michigan uses him down the road."

TideSports.com Senior Recruiting Analyst Andrew Bone: "Davis is a big-bodied running back who might end up playing fullback or H-Back at the next level. He is strong, powerful and very tough running between the tackles."
