He may be a new name on the radar, but Berrien Springs (Mich.) 2017 offensive/defensive lineman Phillip Paea may not be under the radar for long. The 6-4, 260-pounder is agile enough to play linebacker for a Berrien Springs team that he has helped lead to a 4-0 record, while also opening holes as an offensive guard.

Over the weekend, he made a trip across the state to take an unofficial visit to the University of Michigan along with a pair of his teammates.

"I had a great first time experience, especially since a couple of my teammates - Steven Spenner and Malik McIntyre - were there," Paea said. "It made the experience a lot of fun. The food was great and the team did great so in all, I really enjoyed the game, it's a great environment to be around."

The trio was invited by U-M Recruiting Coordinator Erik Campbell, who has been expanding Michigan's offer net in-state in recent weeks. The Wolverines have invited a number of 2016-18 prospects to campus, and the 28-7 victory over UNLV was a positive experience for the Berrien Springs group.

The beginning of their season has been positive, as well.

"We are doing really well," Paea explained. "We are 4-0 right now and 3 straight defensive shutouts."

If the Shamrocks keep up their winning ways, it's only a matter of time before more colleges take note of their standout players. The crew is planning to visit Purdue at some point this season, as well.
