Brown to Raiders, others sign free agent deals
With the 251st pick in the NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Michigan safety Stevie Brown, whose pro day performance (including a 4.42 40-yard dash) elevated his stock. Early departure Donovan Warren and others have signed free agent deals.

Brown was ranked 15th out of 144 strong safeties by NFLDraftScout.com, and the Raiders and Bengals reportedly invited him for visits after his strong Pro Day showing. Brown won the team's Roger Zatkoff Award as U-M's top linebacker, notching 79 tackles (44 solo) with one sack and one interception last season.
Warren, meanwhile, inked with the Jets, while receiver Greg Mathews and running back Brandon Minor reportedly signed free agent deals with the Chicago Bears. Offensive lineman Mark Ortmann later signed with Carolina, while fellow lineman David Moosman inked with Arizona.
