Carol Hutchins Earns Inaugural Pat Summitt Award

Michigan head softball coach Carol Hutchins has more wins than anyone in the history of college softball. She now also possesses an award linking her to another of the greatest coaches ever.

Hutchins captured the 2016 espnW Pat Summitt Coaching Award, named for the University of Tennessee women's basketball coaching icon. ESPN's story on Hutchins and the award appears here.

Hutchins' squads have won 1,484 softball games over the course of her coaching career. The Wolverines have been to the Women's College World Series a dozen times under Hutchins, and won the national championship in 2005.
