Michigan Wolverines football tight ends coach Sherrone Moore held a coaches clinic meeting via Zoom this past Friday evening to discuss not only X's and O's and strategy, but also U-M’s presence in Southeast Michigan.
Detroit has long been a hotbed for talent in that region of the state, with the immense amount of Division 1 talent Cass Tech High School generates being a large reason why.
The Maize and Blue have had a longstanding relationship with Cass Tech, having pulled in notable athletes in recent years such as cornerback Jourdan Lewis (2013-16), wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones (2017-19) and right guard Mike Onwenu (2016-19), just to name a few.
The Technicians’ head coach, Thomas Wilcher, was one of the coaches present on the video meeting with Moore on Friday night.
“Coach Moore talked about the relationship he’d like to have with the coaches in the Metro-Detroit area,” Wilcher explained. “He also talked about how Michigan runs their offense and how they utilize their tight ends.
