Crawford puts in a good word recruiting

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward 2015 defensive back Shaun Crawford has been to Ann Arbor a number of times. He committed to the Wolverines Aug. 23, and has returned to his future home a couple times since.
The 5-9, 165-pounder is the highest-ranked member of Michigan's class to date, the No. 106 player overall and No. 4 in Ohio, and the No. 11 cornerback in the nation. On his most recent visit to Ann Arbor yesterday, he tried to help convince a former U-M pledge - five-star Damien Harris - to unseat him as the top-ranked future Wolverine.

"Of course I tried to put in a good word [with the uncommitted guys]," Crawford explained.
However, the U-M coaching staff had a plan entering the day, and spent most of their own time with the uncommitted players. That meant Crawford had to make the most of his limited opportunities.
"I didn't talk much to most of them," Crawford explained. "The coaches had them pretty much the entire time."
He did get a chance to continue building bond with two other members of the recruiting class. Fellow Ohioans Andrew David, a two-star kicker, and Tyree Kinnel, a four-star safety, were also in attendance. Crawford got to know those players even better than he already does. Most importantly though, he got to watch a thrilling game that ended with a 79-70 U-M victory over rival Michigan State.
"It was crazy," Crawford raved. "Just playing Michigan State in general the atmosphere will be crazy, but playing your rival for the B1G regular-season championship had the arena shaking. After every basket made by Michigan, you couldn't hear a thing."
Crawford brought along friend and fellow 2015 prospect Troy Henderson, his teammate at St. Edward, who also enjoyed the game. Now, the U-M pledge is gearing up for his track season this spring. As a sophomore last year, he finished second in the state meet in the 100-meter dash, with a time of 10.54 seconds, and fifth in the 200-meter, with a time of 21.47 seconds.
