Fred Hansard Visiting For Michigan Spring Game

The U-M coaching staff will host a big contingent from New Jersey for their annual spring game April 1 (and a Junior Day immediately thereafter), and you can add the No. 2 player in the state to that list. Princeton (N.J.) Hun School defensive tackle Fred Hansard will be in town.

Hansard's announcement is particularly important, because it was unclear whether the Rivals100 prospect would have the opportunity to return to Ann Arbor prior to making a May 14 commitment to the college of his choice.

Michigan is one of his top remaining options - along with Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Tennessee - but the Wolverines were among the later to offer from that group, and he's been to Ann Arbor only once during the recruiting process.

Adding another trip (and one on which plenty of fellow Garden Staters, including Camden natives Cesar Ruiz and Elvis Hines, will be in town) gives U-M a serious shot.
