Hoops, Class Of 2015: New Targets Emerging

In addition to Versailles, Ohio shooting guard Kyle Ahrens, featured here last week, Michigan has opened the door to a handful of other 2015 targets in addition to the usual suspects.
One, Rice Lake, Wis., 6-9, 250-pound power forward Henry Ellenson, hold offers from Michigan State, Wisconsin, Georgetown, Purdue and others. He was averaging 21 points and 10 rebounds before putting up 36 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks in a 70-67 loss to powerhouse Tartan Dec. 15.
"What I saw from Henry Ellenson … was at a level that makes you think further than college. Outstanding," Minnesota analyst Ryan James reported.
Other new 2015 prospects to watch:
Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga's Sam Miller. Michigan and Creighton are the latest to show interest per his East Coast Fusion AAU program.'s Eric Bossi caught him in action in early December.
"He has good size at 6-foot-8, can shoot a jumper and is a good rebounder," Bossi reported. "He was limited by foul troubles but managed 20 points and six rebounds in just 17 minutes during Gonzaga's loss to Chicago (Ill.) St. Rita's."
Miller has an offer from Penn State and Rutgers and is hearing from Maryland, Virginia, Xavier, Notre Dame, Boston College and more.
Las Vegas, Nev., Bishop Gorman's Chase Jeter. The Wolverines have been watching's No. 21 prospect (6-9, 215) for some time, but the interest has ramped up recently. He's the teammate of five-star U-M target Stephen Zimmerman (7-0, No. 2).
Michigan assistant coach LaVall Jordan was at the Chicago Elite Classic earlier this month to watch Jeter, reported, and Jeter has reciprocated interest.
"I like the way they're playing so far early in the year," Jeter said of Michigan. "I continue to watch the programs recruiting me and enjoy the recruiting process."
Jeter doesn't have any visits planned, but Duke and North Carolina are among the others heavily recruiting him.
"I sort of have my own list, but I won't release it just until I'm ready and my family's ready," he said. "It's a lengthy list, so there's no reason for me to release it. But many of the schools recruiting me, they're on my list."
Junior point guard offeree Jalen Brunson of Lincolnshire (Ill.) Stevenson is earning notice as one of the nation's top junior point guards. He scored 29 points and added five rebounds and three assists in a win over Libertyville after scoring 27 points vs. Mundelein earlier the week of Dec. 8.
LaPorte, Ind., La Lumiere's Jalen Coleman (6-3, 180, No. 34), another offered, scored a team-high 23 points in a 68-48 win over Gary Roosevelt Dec. 15.
Lake Forest, Ill., High standout Evan Boudreaux has notched five straight double double's as of Dec. 16. The last was a 28-point, 16-rebound performance in a win over Lake Zurich Dec. 14.
