If there was one thing that Michigan's Hunter Dickinson excelled at during his time at Michigan, it was talking and angering those who he talked about.

Fully embracing the role of a wrestling heel, Dickinson has never been afraid to speak his mind, for better or for worse.

This time around, Dickinson is now setting his sights on the state of Michigan which will undoubtedly draw the ire of the natives, no matter which side of the fence you reside on within the state.

Appearing on the latest episode of the Rock Chalk Unplugged podcast, Dickinson was asked about the comparisons between Lawrence and Ann Arbor.

That led to Dickinson calling Michigan a 'fake Midwest,' which leaves his statement open to interpretation for U-M fans.

“I'd say it's pretty similar to Ann Arbor in a sense," Dickinson said. "Ann Arbor is probably a little bit bigger population-wise. In terms of the city and the downtown, it kind of reminded me of not a normal city, it gave you that feel. Being from DC, it's not the same. It's a little more laid back... I like it here, I like the slow pace. Kind of a laidback feel.

"Just walking around, the people are super, super welcoming. Super nice. Definitely get those Midwest vibes. I think Michigan, they weren’t as nice. Like, they were nice people but not as nice. I feel like Michigan’s like a fake Midwest. Kansas is actually a Midwest town. But you know, I loved my time in Michigan, but the people here at Kansas are especially nice.”

He was also asked about his transition from playing with Juwan Howard to now playing for Bill Self at Kansas.

He is excited to learn more and expand his knowledge of the game.

"Besides the fact that one is 6'9 and the one is not as tall," Dickinson said. "I really like playing under Coach Self. It's only been for a couple of weeks now. He definitely seems like a guy who knows a lot of basketball. You can just tell. The way he explains stuff, his terminology, he's a little bit different than what I'm used to. Some things are universal but some things are different. I'm just super excited to learn under him. He's one of the best coaches of all time. I feel like he knows what he's doing. If I'm not listening to him, there's something wrong with me."
